Welcome! My name is Michael P. Tulay and I’m a photographer. What started out as a hobby nearly thirty years ago shooting professional NBA, MLB and NHL athletes grew into a successful commercial photography business in 1992. Since that time my work has touched thousands of individuals and has provided them with images that exceeded their expectations. I truly enjoy meeting new people and knowing that my work has captured a special moment in their lives - for a lifetime.
My goal in working together with you is to create the most stunning images of you that we possibly can, images that draw out your inner beauty, poise and confidence. I believe that when we do a photo session together there are really two artists at work, one in front of the camera and one behind the camera. I’m passionate about ensuring we collaborate closely together as artists. A look at my gallery should tell you that my visual style is best described as upbeat, fresh, and “ad-agency” rather than artsy, dark, or experimental. Whether working on location or in the studio, I take great care in creating glamorous and sensuous images that are tasteful, not trashy. I go the extra mile to ensure each customer’s needs are understood before the shoot begins and are exceeded by the time we are through. I think my customer focus has been the key to my success and why so many of my customers also become my friends.
You need to know that I am a professional whose reputation is beyond reproach. When we work together it will be as professionals collaborating on an exciting project...your images! I treat all models with the highest professional dignity and respect. I am very easy to work with. I like comfortable, relaxed and safe shoots, and unintrusive escorts are always welcome. Model Mayhem is not a dating service for me, so there is never any underlying pressure or ulterior motives while on the set. I expect models to collaborate closely on their shoots, to have a fun session, and to truly enjoy feeling beautiful and being professional.
What is a session like? All sessions are by appointment (and I appreciate advanced notice if scheduling conflicts arise). We will collaborate together before hand to work at developing your best looks. I have shot talent and models commercially for numerous organizations including Sears, SteinMart, and Dollywood®, as well as local talent agencies, businesses, theater groups, and dance ensembles. Given that, I think I have a good understanding of the East Tennessee market and I know the looks that businesses seek to promote their products and services, and that ultimately get models paid assignments.
I am always looking to expand my portfolio and work with creative and innovative talent.
